Ain't there anyone here for love?

(Any excuse for a bit of Jane Russell really!)

What's that I see in the distance? It'sValentine's Day, creeping up on us like a stealthy lioness of love!

What are your thoughts on Valentine's Day? I know it's not for everyone, and that it is popularly believed to have been "created by the greeting card companies" as a way of making even more money. Personally, I quite like Valentine's Day. Even if you don't have a partner when it rolls around, I still think it's a nice excuse to celebrate love - any kind of love - even if it's just for one day. Cheesy? Perhaps. I suppose I'm just a great big softy deep down. Please don't tell anyone, I'd hate to ruin my "tough" street cred...

Queen of Hearts necklace, £50 from Swell Vintage

This year I will actually be working on the day itself, but I'm going to make sure that I take the opportunity to tell everyone I love how much I care about them.

How will you be celebrating Valentine's Day this year?

Much love,

Frankie

  1. I'm in the camp of finding extra time with a loved one to get out and do something. A day out or something like that. Not fussed about cards and presents, which impresses my boyfriend no end lol.

  2. I don't 'believe in' valentines day. I think your partner should be treated with love every day, and you can buy them presents whenever!

    Great post!

  4. If I had a significant other, I'd like using it as an excuse to splash out and remind my boyfriend how much he means to me. I know you should act like that everyday but it's not realistic what with work, blogging and real life!

I think this year I'mm buy myself something from Swell to cheer myself up ;)
