Why weight?

If you're the kind of lady who feels a bit self conscious when shopping sometimes (I believe we're known as "human"), or you simply don't know how best to dress for your body shape, fear not - there is somewhere you can go for advice, and you don't even have to leave your house!

How cool is that? Not only do you get to have your questions answered by people who know their style stuff while sitting around in your PJs (or whatever you wear around the house...you could even be naked...no judgement here), but you could also get your hands on Debenhams vouchers to make shopping even sweeter! I wish all parties were done this way...

Will you be at the Twitter party tomorrow?

Much love,

Christmas Garden, more like!

What's that I see over there in the near distance?

It's red and green, and it's getting closer and closer...

Oh my goodness - IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Is it just me, or do I look really good with a beard?!

That's right, people. December is soon upon us, and with it comes my favourite present-giving, binge-eating holiday. If the rest of 2011 is anything to go by, time is going to fly by like a partridge on its way to a pear tree, so it helps to be prepared.

If you haven't starting buying presents yet and you live in the London area (or the surrounding south - I don't mean to exclude you), then have no fear! The festive folks over at Covent Garden’s Seven Dials and St Martin’s Courtyard are holding a special evening shopping event on 1st December were you can get a recession-friendly 20% off in their fancy stores, including their vintage boutiques. Not only that, but they also have a whole Santa's sack load of other stuff going on in their stores, including DJs, live music, makeovers, gifts with purchase, complimentary food and drinks and much much more! Christmas is the season of excess after all...

And as if that weren't enough, I'm going to be there too! I'll be wandering around drinking in some Christmas cheer and taking lots of snaps, so if you see me you must come and say ho ho ho...or just hello. Whichever you prefer.

If you're interested in swinging by and indulging yourself with some discount action, all you need to do is download a voucher from www.sevendials.co.uk to make sure you get that ever so helpful 20% off. And hopefully I'll see you there!

Much love,

Creating a spectacle

A little while ago, I attended the launch party for London Retro, a super-chic new glasses range inspired by the eclectic trends of the coolest parts of London.

Not only are there a wide variety of ultra-cool, flattering frames to choose from, but they're also pretty reasonable too. And because you can order them through Glasses Direct, you're sure to get a bargain as they have some great deals such as buy one get one free - what more can you ask for?!

The lovely Lizzy of Scientist Chic and Lucy of Snippets of Shiny Thoughts

The equally lovely Gabby Young

The blogger gang! From left to right: Amy of Wolf Whistle, Katie of London Plinth, Gabby and Lizzy.

The whole night was great, especially the photobooth provided by the enthuisastic gents over at The Mighty Booth, who offer a bespoke unique photobooth experience. In fact, the booth was so much fun I went in twice!

Since attending the event, I have actually ordered myself two pairs of glasses in the 'Shoreditch' frame (I fit my local stereotype, it seems!) - one regular pair, as well as a pair of prescription sunglasses. I had originally planned to write about the event sooner including photos of me in my shiny new specs, but unfortunately they haven't arrived yet. Here's a picture of the 'Shoreditch' frame solo:

What do you think? I personally love me some tortoiseshell, and I think they will look brilliant as sunglasses.

Always Coca Cola

On Friday I attended an event at the Design Museum to celebrate the 125th anniversary of iconic drink brand Coca Cola. You may be thinking, "What on earth has Coke got to do with vintage or fashion", but let's face it - brand survived generations and has been enjoyed in iconic imagery by the likes of Naomi Campbell, John F. Kennedy and Bill Crosby - if that doesn't make it a fashion icon, I don't know what does!

The event itself was very interesting, and reminded us all of just how much of an impact Coca Cola has had on the world over the years. The Design Museum was filled with coke bottles, advertising imagery and even the man who is draws the curly logo! To celebrate their 125 long years of drinkie-goodness, Coca Cola have also released an ASSOULINE book cleverly titled, "Coca Cola", which is chock full of their advertising genius. There are two versions of the book - one standard version and another super-special hard-bound limited edition version with colour plates that comes in a linen clamshell box with a complimentary ASSOULINE canvas tote bag, which you can buy here.

I was also lucky enough to enjoy the event with my two good friends, Reena of Fashion Daydreams and Nik Thakkar of KARLISMYUNKLE. We had such a lovely time we even made a little video - check it out.

You can view it bigger over on my YouTube page.

I will be back with some actual jewellery related posts soon - promise!
