What the world needs now...

Unless you've been living in a cave with no access to news from the outside world for the last couple of days, you'll have heard about the recent tragedies that have taken place - the shootings in Norway, China's bullet train crash and, of course, Amy Winehouse.

If these last two days have taught us anything, it's just how very precious life is. Although I have been deeply saddened by all of these occurences, I've decided to take today to celebrate life and to tell the people that I love just how much I care about them. And that includes you, my dear reader.

Since I started this blog nearly three years ago , I have met so many new people and have made some great friends. Not just in the "online" sense either - I'm talking about real friends that I care deeply for, and that I am now very close to. Then Twitter came along, and it's allowed a lonely freelancer like me to converse with more wonderful people on a daily basis.

Just some of the great blogger friends I have made...I am a very lucky girl.

In short, I am extremely grateful for you, internet. And I love you. These last few days have reminded me of a quote from 'V for Vendetta'. Yes, I am a massive geek, but the sentiment is true:

I hope that whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the worlds turns, and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you.

So why not go and tell someone you love just how much you care about them right now? I promise you won't regret it.

Much love,

Love is in the air

Happy Valentine's Day, my swell friends!

I took this photo in the summer of last year, and I'm so pleased to finally have a use for it.

I spotted this tiny piece of heart confetti in a fountain at Skinners Hall near Canon Street in London. I hope it makes you smile like I did when I saw it on that beautiful sunny day.

However you spend your Valentines Day, whether you're single or taken, I wish you all the love in the world. And yes, I am fully aware of how cheesy that sounded. Soz.

Much love,

Ain't there anyone here for love?

(Any excuse for a bit of Jane Russell really!)

What's that I see in the distance? It'sValentine's Day, creeping up on us like a stealthy lioness of love!

What are your thoughts on Valentine's Day? I know it's not for everyone, and that it is popularly believed to have been "created by the greeting card companies" as a way of making even more money. Personally, I quite like Valentine's Day. Even if you don't have a partner when it rolls around, I still think it's a nice excuse to celebrate love - any kind of love - even if it's just for one day. Cheesy? Perhaps. I suppose I'm just a great big softy deep down. Please don't tell anyone, I'd hate to ruin my "tough" street cred...

Queen of Hearts necklace, £50 from Swell Vintage

This year I will actually be working on the day itself, but I'm going to make sure that I take the opportunity to tell everyone I love how much I care about them.

How will you be celebrating Valentine's Day this year?

Much love,

Frankie

Swell quickie

Hello lovely people!

This post is going to be a quick one to say:
  1. I love you.
  2. I miss you.
  3. I made a new bracelet today

The Green-eyed monster. This bracelet is made from a vintage brooch, linked on vintage chain and adorned with vintage faux pearl. What do you think? I'm quite pleased with it.

In other news, I'm having ALL FOUR of my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday 9th December. Apart from being absolutely terrified (I've never had an operation or stayed overnight in a hospital before - help me!!!!), I'm also going to be very busy. I have so much to do before then as I'll be out of action for the four days after. Wish me luck, please!

I hope all is well with you, and that you had a bloody brilliant weekend.

Much love,

Frankie
